He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou find refuge: His truth is a shield and buckler
Psalms 91:4

Be it ours, when we cannot see the face of God, to trust under the shadow of His wings. C.H. Spugeon

Desire; The 'Lie' Within

Desire means a sense of 'lust', a 'want', a 'wish' or something we 'long for'.
1 John 2:16, " For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world."
But what of those desires we have, those things which crawl around in our breasts, making our hearts beat faster ...
I have a desire to write, to use words to change my life, to put into writing the formation and culmination of thoughts which are altering my existence and life. This is my desire or one of them at least. It would also be a desire to in some way change someone else's life, to affect the way they think and react to events and circumstances in their own life.
This chronicling of my life's journey through the pursuit of faith and all the subsequent collateral avenues created in that quest is formidable. It is not so much as an effort or a desire, those things are inherent in me, it is the timing of the thoughts which are vexing. I seem to write in my mind proliferately just before falling to sleep! Ugh!
A second issue is the sense of significance, value and worth associated with chronicling my personal meanderings through these quandaries of thought and idea.
A third issue is assuming that these issues are in any way relevant to anyone besides myself.
There is always looming in my mind a fear of persuading myself to believe a false assumption. I ask myself about the 'lie' that lives within.
I look at the world through the lens of personal experience, something which we all do. We are products in the sense that our life's condition is the result of the cumulative memories created. There is no escape from our past, but what does exist is the redemption of our future.
Within what is inherent in us is an ability to convince and/or justify beliefs about who we are and subsequently what we can achieve in our life. This is where the 'lie' can evolve. This is also the place where the truth of who we are can evolve.
Many do not (and this may be a result of memory, in that I even think this way) even give this thought process a chance to enter their realm of consciousness.
Many may be just pawns to their own 'lie', believing that their desires, their dreams, their lusts are the absolute expression of who they are and what they are to accomplish in this life.
We all understand that for all people this is not going to be 'truth'. That some amongst us are going to develop a personal mindset setting them apart from the rest of society, actually alienating them from participation in that very society.
What must be done?
How can we identify those who are wired differently?
How can we effectively glean from our society those who either present a radical solution to our life, or those who jeopardize our common existence?
I do not believe there is an inerrant method or process by which we can achieve that goal, but having said that ... we must be alert to both subsets of people.
There will be one who will rise from the turmoil of life, he will offer and present the solution, but he will also be the one who's desire is to destroy our lives.
We may very well live on the edge of the Apocalypse and the End-Times as forecast in Revelation.
It will be impossible to distinguish the 'salvation' offered from the covert subplot of destruction underlying the solution.
The very existence of evil and the lies that are believed and proliferated in our current culture are evidence of the ability to persuade people to believe the 'lie' and accept it as 'truth', while the truth is portrayed as the 'lie'.
Isaiah 5:20,
"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil
 Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!'

My writings have no ulterior motive, there is no desire in me for subterfuge or subliminal messages.
My desire is to communicate the Love of God and empower anyone who would chance upon this blog to evaluate and discern their own relevance and significance and their relationship with God. My desire is for any such person to step forward in faith, with or without reservation, accepting the certain and profound conditions of God, by believing that Jesus Christ is His Son and died for their sins and in believing that, that they will have eternal life and in this life an abundance of hope and love.
