He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou find refuge: His truth is a shield and buckler
Psalms 91:4

Be it ours, when we cannot see the face of God, to trust under the shadow of His wings. C.H. Spugeon

The Human Project; Self

There are those who have faith and hope and there are those who are looking for faith and hope -- Those who have received faith and hope are to love to bring those who are seeking to grace.

We cannot give faith and hope to anyone, but we can love them so they can believe.

I spoke these words or thoughts very similar many years ago when I spoke at my Church. As I have started my Summer reading I came across this quote,

"The seventh and final dimension of faith is love. As in the case of hope, and for similar reasons, calling love a dimension of faith may cause some surprise. I am  not interested in flattening the richness of the Christian attitude called agape by reducing it to a subspecies of faith. Rather, I am concerned to show that we better understand agape when we see how it articulates faith. If agape means willing good for others not for our benefit but for theirs, we can see that it is faith which allows the other (God) to be other (God), instead of an extension of our self-project. In agape, we simply reverse the direction of the pattern by which faith accepts the gift of being known and accepted by God, and offer the same gift to others. We seek their good not because we will thereby grow greater, but because, ultimately, God will be glorified."

My discussion was about the relationship of faith, hope and love and as is so succinctly expressed in the previous quote there is a profound aspect of agape love when revealed to other people by our actions which is enlivening of our acceptance, love and debt to God for revealing and providing the faith and hope in Him to live out that very mandate of agape.

In faith and hope we see our 'works' revealing our 'faith' when implemented to alleviate the suffering of others.

We cannot give what we do not possess, faith must have its way with us so love can have its sway in grace to others.
