He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou find refuge: His truth is a shield and buckler
Psalms 91:4

Be it ours, when we cannot see the face of God, to trust under the shadow of His wings. C.H. Spugeon

The Truth Speaks

Salvation means deliverance, an acute dynamic act of snatching one from peril, foiling the intents and purposes of others to do harm, providing a ransom, redemption, reconciliation, restoration, reward, atonement, preservation, by implication safety, security, prosperity, ease and soundness. One of the most distinctive defining concepts behind the word salvation is 'forgiveness'. It is being freed from the guilt and pollution of sin.

John 14:6,7 Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him."

Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising. Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”

The absolute truth of salvation provided by God through no other avenue than belief in His Son Jesus Christ is not a difficult or complex thing to believe or understand, in fact, what makes it so stark and offensive is that it is so easy to understand and believe.

John 14:1 "Let not you heart be troubled; you believe in God; believe also in Me."
Acts 4:12 "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name ..."

The issue is not to like or dislike these statements, the issue is whether I accept or reject Jesus' claims.

It is propounded that there is a tragic absurdity to this extreme exclusiveness when viewed in the scope of God is love. It has been stated that what Christians believe about Heaven and Hell frames their belief in Who God is? and What God is like?. This is quite a detraction from the statements of Jesus concerning our condition now and with respect to where we spend eternity. The view we have does not frame God however, the true absurdity is, Why would God rescue any? Why would He invest the expense to provide a way to life with Him? Why would He even bother? What can He possibly gain by extending Himself to express His love by sacrificing His Son for my paltry, insignificant dot-of-a-life on this minuscule orb floating in an infinite space?

The answer 'Love Wins' God cannot do other than exist as love and He cannot act apart from that truth.
